The overall objective of the National Decentralisation Conference is to facilitate policy dialogue among stakeholders to catalyse the attainment of the decentralisation reform objectives at all levels of the governance system in Zambia.

Specifically, the Conference will seek to:

  1. Foster dialogue and research that promotes exchange of ideas and evidence-based policymaking and innovative thinking among researchers, development practitioners, and policymakers;
  2. Examine best practices from other countries to inform implementation of Policy measures;
  3. Identify and propose solutions for addressing systemic, procedural, and policy issues in the implementation of the decentralisation reforms; and
  4. Identify knowledge gaps to inform future research on decentralisatn, local governance, service delivery and citizen participation.
