The Local Government Association of Zambia (LGAZ) in collaboration with the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) has today, 23rd November 2023, commenced a follow-up 2-day training workshop on how to systematically tackle sexual harassment in an effort to create an inclusive, safe, conducive and gender responsive workplace in local government.

Taking place at Urban Bliss Hotel in Kabwe, the workshop brings together 50 male and female gender focal points  from selected 50 local authorities drawn from all 10 provinces. Participants include Social Economic Planners, District AIDS Coordination Advisors, Community Development Officers and Human Resource Officers.

The training has been organised under the auspices of the @ Partnerships for Municipal Innovation - Women in Local Leadership (PMI-WILL) project which is being implemented by LGAZ in collaboration with FCM with support from the Canadian government.

The training is part of PMI-WILL project's efforts to create an enabling environment for women in local government administration to perform their duties effectively.
