Shiwang’andu District Profile
Shiwang’andu district is one of the eight districts of Muchinga Province. It came into being in 2012 by an act of parliament and became operational in 2013. As at the 2010 Census of Population and Housing, Shiwang'andu district was part of Chinsali district as a constituency. The name of the district originates from Lake Shiwang’andu which means, “the lake of crocodiles” and it is also a major tourist attraction in the district.
